“Jesus’ life was a storm of controversy. The apostles, like the prophets before them, could hardly go a day without controversy. Paul said that he debated daily in the marketplace. To avoid controversy is to avoid Christ. We can have peace, but it is a servile and carnal peace where truth is slain in the streets.”
Mathew 10:33 – 36
Jesus speaks:
34(C) “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth.(D) I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35(E) For I have come(F) to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36(G) And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.
If we are divided within family because of the gospel, how much more will we find controversy with the world?
True statement.
